Webinar: Innovation in Infrastructure Construction

A big thank you to Veoila and Canal Isabel II (Madrid) for inviting CarbonCure Technologies to their online webinar for Innovation in Infrastructure Construction.

Around the globe, Veolia helps cities and industries to manage, optimize and make the most of their resources. The company provides an array of solutions related to water, energy and materials – with a focus on waste recovery – to promote the transition toward a circular economy.

The Canal de Isabel II has a mission based on an important and unavoidable objective: the care of a scarce natural resource. They care of the community by managing everyone's water with transparency, efficiency and sustainability. They also have a strategic plan for 2018-2030 to address challenges of modernization and sustainability service excellence by integrating Madrid city councils into their decision-making bodies.

Joining other technological innovations presented by Rapida Sensing, Cosmo Engineering and SAALG, CarbonCure's Regional Director for EMEA, Chad Mahoney, presents and answers questions for our audience in Spain.

Razing a Common Misunderstanding: Early-Age Carbonation vs. Atmospheric Carbonation in Concrete

Atmospheric carbonation (sometimes referred to as weathering or “natural” carbonation), which is the absorption of CO2 into hardened concrete over the course of decades, should not be confused or conflated with early-age carbonation, which is the injection and immediate mineralization of captured CO2 in fresh concrete. To put it another way, there is a misperception that CO2 injection just speeds up or supplants the natural process of carbonation in concrete, but this misses key differences between them and how the latter is moving the needle on concrete decarbonization.
